As the campers take turns leading, they learn that sometimes it’s good to be small, and sometimes it’s good to be tall, but it’s always good to face a challenge with friends who cheer you on with every step, hop, stride, or wing flutter. Joe McGee earned an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts and an MA in Writing from Rowan University. He teaches creative writing at Sierra Nevada College’s low-residency MFA program.
